Information vs. Imagination

Information vs. imagination.
Two ways I've been thinking about how to compare and contrast two totally different but equally inspiring events I had the pleasure of attending last week.

Two sides of the same coin.
Two different ways in to inspiration.

π—œπ—‘π—™π—’π—₯π— π—”π—§π—œπ—’π—‘: An excellent afternoon put together by the good folks at Agency Hackers, gathering a few best of the best indie agency owners and operators to give us a peek inside their brains and how they're thinking about growth and scale, as it pertains from the tactical (headcount, licensing, technology) to philosophical (mental models). A few key takeaways:
πŸ’‘ Smaller core teams β†’ higher revenue β†’ bigger impact
πŸ’‘ Yes, invest and hire "grownups," but don't fall into the trap thinking they will just fix everything for you
πŸ’‘ Charging, not just thinking, outside the box

π—œπ— π—”π—šπ—œπ—‘π—”π—§π—œπ—’π—‘: A delightfully unexpected evening of creativity, hosted by Heather Myers and her team at Spark No. 9, with guest Brian Weisfeld, speaker, author, and founder of The Startup Squad Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship to girls (his latest book pictured). He has one of the best taglines I've come across recently: π™„π™£π™£π™€π™«π™–π™©π™š π™‘π™žπ™ π™š 𝙖 π™˜π™π™žπ™‘π™™, π™™π™šπ™‘π™žπ™«π™šπ™§ π™‘π™žπ™ π™š 𝙖𝙣 π™šπ™π™₯π™šπ™§π™©. I loved hearing Brian talk about what he's learned from his work with kidsβ€”their unvarnished curiosity and unfiltered inspiration. He and the Spark team led us through two workshops to test our creativity, revealing just how far we can go when we let ourselves know a little less and imagine a lot more.
